3/10/2013 - The Italian Council for Refugees (CIR) expresses deep sorrow for one of the worst tragedies of the last years. More than 80 persons among which many children have disappeared in the waters.
30 September 2013: CIR expresses its sorrow and grief for the death of 13 migrants, all adult men, recovered this morning following a tragic shipwreck off of Ragusano.
30 September 2013: According to the UNHCR, to date in 2013, about 28.000 persons have landed on the Italian coast after crossing the Mediterranean. More than 100 migrants and asylum seekers have died at sea since the beginning of the year.
