Project “Frontiere Minori”

29 January – CIR is the leading proponent of the project “Frontiere Minori”, co-financed by the European Union and the Ministry of the Interior /Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (FAMI) -2014/2020 - Specific Objective 1 ASILO – National Objective 1. Reception/Asylum. The aim of the project is to reinforce the protection to foreign minors, including those that are unaccompanied, arriving from or headed towards Austria and/or Slovenia (identified in the Provinces of Udine and Gorizia), of minors from or headed to the Brenner Pass (identified in the province of Verona) and those arriving on the coasts of Puglia.

The specific objectives of the project are: • To contribute to the improvement of information services, initial assistance and referral for foreign minors, including unaccompanied minors who reach Italy through the border pass on the land borders of Tarvisio, identified in this area and in the surrounding areas of Gorizia and Udine and/or foreign minors in transit, including unaccompanied minors intercepted in the province of Verona, most of whom are arriving from/headed to the Brenner Pass.

• To contribute to the reinforcement of the identification system, accompanying and referral services for foreign minors, including unaccompanied minors in the north eastern Provinces of Gorizia, Udine, Verona and the Province of Lecce.
